The Naimeg Group was founded by Gerson Naimeg, the son of German immigrants, and his wife Hercilia Mafra. They started their first coffee plantations in the northern region of Paraná in 1965. By 1981, after having the crops hit by three devastating frosts, they decided to look for more suitable land and migrated to the Cerrado Mineiro region.

One of the strongest characteristics of the region is well-defined seasons - a hot, wet summer and a pleasantly dry winter. The coffee plantations are cultivated in areas with altitudes varying between 800 and 1,300 meters which results in high quality coffees with a unique identity.

Presently, the family organisation consists of five siblings and their families who are all active in the day-to-day management of their farm’s operation.
