A stunning natural lot from the Atipanaku quality competition. Graciela has produced a really special coffee which reminds us of blackberries, apple and grape soda.

This lot placed 6th overall in the Atipanaku quality competition which was open to producers across the nation. It was also our favourite natural in the competition and we are super pleased to have won this lot at auction.

Graciela Espinoza and her husband live in the Las Pirias village in Chirinos district where they own 2 hectares of land. Her farm is planted with a few different varieties, including typica, bourbon, caturra, catuai, mundo novo and catimor. All of the coffee is picked by the family and they are careful to be as selective as possible, only picking the ripest cherries. During the harvest season they will undertake twice as many passes through the farm than their neighbours.

Graciela’s coffees are dried in her parabolic drier on raised beds, which is great for minimising risks during natural processing. It protects the coffee from excessive moisture and facilitates more even and consistent drying. This lot was dried slowly over 36 days.
