A washed coffee from Brazil? We are falling in love with coffees from this really interesting region. This amazing lot tastes like dried fruits, red berries and brown sugar with a lovely citrus acidity.

CULTIVAR: Various
PREPARATION: Fully Washed
LOCATION: Rancho Dantas, Espirito Santo
ALTITUDE: 1,000 - 1,100 masl

Travelling up the beautiful mountain roads from the state’s capital and port town of Vitoria, you reach the the town of Venda Nova do Imigrante. The Italian descendent town of twenty thousand is smack in the middle of the 14 municipalities that grow Arabica coffees in the state.

This is a blend of washed coffees produced by three brothers whose farms are all located in Rancho Dantas, in the municipality of Brejetuba. This area has perhaps the best example of the unique micro-climate found in Espirito Santo. The coffees in this region are often compared to Colombian or Kenyan profiles and are atypical for Brazil. Moisture from the coast is trapped by the mountains, resulting in high levels of humidity and a consistently cool climate. In the rocky, mineral rich soil grow clean crisp coffees with sparkling acidity that have a floral touch.
